Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how FOCAL POINT EDTECH, UNIPESSOAL, LDA, trading as Epic Calendars, handles information through the Epic Calendars website and Android applications, including Forest Calendar.

Information we handle
Contact enquiries
When you submit the website contact form or contact us by email, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, selected topic, subject and message.
We use this information to respond to your enquiry, provide support, investigate reported problems and maintain appropriate records of our response.
App preferences and local data
Epic Calendars apps may store preferences and app activity locally on your device. This may include settings, selected calendars, favourites, navigation choices, quiz progress, poll or quiz display state, notification preferences and similar app choices.
This information normally remains on your device and is not transmitted to Epic Calendars unless a feature expressly requires communication with our servers.
Calendar information
With your permission, an Epic Calendars app can access calendars made available through Android’s calendar system.
Depending on the features you choose, the app may:
- Display events from calendars you select.
- Create themed events in a calendar you select.
- Create personal events or tasks.
- Update or remove events previously created or managed through the app.
- Store calendar identifiers, event identifiers and synchronisation markers locally so that calendar features work correctly.
Personal calendar contents used by these features are processed on your device. Epic Calendars does not receive or store the contents of your personal calendars on its servers.
When you direct the app to add an event to an external calendar, that event will be stored by the calendar provider you selected and will then be handled under that provider’s privacy terms. Clearing app data or uninstalling the app may not automatically remove events already written to an external calendar.
You can withdraw calendar permission through Android settings. Some calendar features will not work without this permission.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, the app uses Android notification permission and your locally stored reminder preferences to provide optional notifications.
Notification permission is optional and can be changed through Android settings. Epic Calendars does not need to receive your personal calendar contents in order to provide on-device notifications.
Polls and quizzes
Quiz progress and answer-reveal information may be stored locally on your device.
Where a poll is configured to record votes through our servers, submitting a vote may send the poll identifier, selected response and technical request information needed to record the vote, calculate aggregate results, secure the service and prevent abuse. Poll responses are not used to create advertising profiles.
Future Premium purchases and subscriptions
Premium purchases and subscriptions are not currently available.
If Epic Calendars introduces paid products or subscriptions in the future, they will be processed through Google Play. Google Play may then provide the app with information such as the purchased product, purchase status, subscription entitlement and transaction or purchase identifiers needed to provide, verify or restore premium access.
Epic Calendars will not receive or store your payment-card details. Any payment information will be handled by Google under Google’s own terms and privacy policy.
Website and app-server technical information
When you visit the website or an Epic Calendars app retrieves content from our servers, our hosting provider may process technical information including:
- IP address.
- Request date and time.
- Requested page, file or server endpoint.
- Browser or app user-agent information.
- Device or operating-system information made available with the request.
- Referrer information, where provided.
- Security, diagnostic and error information.
We use this information to deliver website and app content, maintain security, investigate faults, prevent abuse and protect the services.
How and why we use information
We process information only where we have an appropriate reason, including:
- To provide website and app features requested by you.
- To respond to enquiries and support requests.
- If paid products are introduced in the future, to provide and restore premium access.
- To count poll responses and display aggregate results.
- To maintain security and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To diagnose technical problems.
- To comply with legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations.
- To establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Depending on the activity, our legal basis may be your consent, the performance of a service or contract requested by you, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in operating, supporting and securing our services.
Where processing depends on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before consent was withdrawn.
Epic Calendars does not sell or rent personal information. We do not use personal calendar contents for advertising.
Sharing and service providers
Information may be processed or shared only as necessary with:
- CCHosting, Inc., trading as ChemiCloud, which provides website hosting, server, email, backup and security infrastructure.
- Google, if necessary for future Google Play purchases and subscriptions or when you direct Android to interact with a Google-provided calendar.
- Other calendar providers selected by you through Android.
- Professional advisers, authorities, regulators or courts where reasonably necessary or legally required.
- A successor organisation if the business or relevant assets are reorganised, sold or transferred, subject to appropriate legal safeguards.
Service providers process information for the purposes of providing their services and are subject to their own contractual and legal obligations.
International transfers
The Epic Calendars website, email and related server services are hosted by ChemiCloud in New York, United States.
Information submitted through the contact form, email, website requests or app-server requests may therefore be processed in the United States.
Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we take steps to ensure that the transfer is made in accordance with applicable data-protection law and that an appropriate transfer mechanism is used where required.
You may contact us if you would like further information about the safeguards used for international transfers.
Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was handled:
- Contact messages are normally retained only while needed to answer and document the enquiry, and ordinarily for no longer than 12 months.
- Server access and security logs may be retained by our hosting provider for a limited period for security, investigation and audit purposes, in accordance with the provider’s retention practices.
- Local app preferences and progress remain on your device until removed through the app, clearing app data or uninstalling the app.
- Events written to an external calendar remain there until removed from that calendar. Uninstalling the app may not delete them.
- If paid products or subscriptions are introduced in the future, purchase and subscription records may be retained while needed to provide or restore an entitlement and for accounting, fraud-prevention, legal or regulatory requirements.
- Aggregate poll totals may be retained for the life of the relevant poll or service.
Information may be kept for longer where required by law, to resolve a dispute or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. When information is no longer required, it is deleted, anonymised or allowed to expire under the applicable retention process.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information handled. These include HTTPS encryption, access controls, secure hosting, authentication measures, software maintenance and restrictions on access to administrative systems.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security. You should protect your device, Google account and calendar-provider account and notify us if you believe your information has been affected by a security problem connected with our services.
Cookies and similar technologies
Epic Calendars does not use personal calendar information for website tracking.
The website is intended to use only technologies that are strictly necessary to operate, secure and deliver the site and its contact form. These may include security, load-balancing, form-submission or anti-abuse technologies.
We do not use advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies. If non-essential analytics, advertising or similar technologies are introduced, this policy will be updated and consent will be requested where required before those technologies are used.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Ask whether we process personal information about you.
- Request access to that information.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of information.
- Request restriction of processing.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Request data portability where applicable.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Complain to a data-protection authority.
You can also:
- Change calendar and notification permissions through Android settings.
- Remove events from the relevant external calendar.
- Clear local app data.
- Uninstall the app.
- If subscriptions are introduced in the future, manage or cancel a subscription through Google Play.
To exercise a privacy right, use our contact form and select the relevant privacy topic, or email support@epiccalendars.com. We may need to request information reasonably necessary to verify the request.
We normally respond to valid privacy requests within one month. This period may be extended where permitted for particularly complex or numerous requests.

Information that is required or optional
Providing contact-form information is optional, but we need a valid email address and message details if you want us to reply.
Calendar and notification permissions are optional. Features that depend on a permission will not work if that permission is refused or withdrawn.
Premium purchases and subscriptions are not currently available. If paid products are introduced in the future, purchase information will be required only where necessary to provide, verify or restore premium access.
Children
Epic Calendars is intended for a general audience and is not designed specifically for children.
We do not knowingly request personal information directly from children through the website. A child who is not legally able to submit a support request independently should ask a parent or guardian to contact us.
If you believe that a child has submitted personal information to us without appropriate permission, please contact us so that we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
Automated decisions
Epic Calendars does not use personal information to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when app features, service providers, legal requirements or data practices change.
The effective date at the top will show when the current version took effect. Material changes will be communicated through the website, app or another appropriate channel where required.
